Risk Assessment - Council Risk Assessment

Councils will need to identify risks, assess those risks and mitigate against them.  The current risk methodology that Councils have been applying to strategic services will need to be adapted for emergency planning purposes.

There will need to be an assessment to determine what would prevent the Council from responding in accordance with customer expectation.

The risk assessment will comprise the following tasks:

  • Risk Description
  • Risk Outcome
  • Impact Assessment (based on the extent of the Council area affected)
  • Frequency Assessment (based on the frequency of incidents over the last 10 years)
  • Risk Score
  • Risk Mitigation
